Bigpond… Oh I so love them! Brief history
- 4 ordernumbers (they ‘lost’ them and 2 months to connect to an existing telephone line
- Roughly 15 times more expensive than any other country I have lived in
- 3 broken modems in 8 months
- Most recently, ‘unable’ to provide support to access apache stating that their responsibility ends with connecting me to the internet and they could connect me to the ‘advanced’ service for a fee of $80.
- Most common phrase heard by customer service staff – “I’m sorry”
Why does this company still exist??? I remember many years ago when cinema tickets started creeping up, the government investigated and set a max price for tickets some $2 lower. Where is the government now??? Oh yeah, they SUPPORT bigpond. I’d be interested to know how many complaints they get a day…

By the way… Does anyone know how to configure a Thompson TG782T modem to run Apache? (bigpond ‘Tech support’ doesn’t know!!
